Read on to learn everything you need to know to set up your cornhole game like a pro.
Official Cornhole Board Dimensions
Knowing the correct measurements for cornhole boards is essential if you’re going to invest in your own equipment. The official dimensions of a cornhole board, according to the American Cornhole Association, are 48” x 24”. The front of the platform should measure 2.5” to 4” tall, and the back of the platform should rest 12” off the ground. In addition, official cornhole specs state that the hole in the game boards should be 6” in diameter, centered 9” below the top of the board, 12” in from each side. Knowing these cornhole board dimensions, it’s easy to make sure that your boards meet the official specs. Cornhole Bag Dimensions
Often overlooked in terms of cornhole specs but nevertheless important, the measurements of the bean bags being used are also important for playing cornhole. Dimensions of bean bags should be 6” square, and they should be made from canvas and filled with two cups of corn feed (though some bags contain plastic filling instead).
Play Area Setup
Beyond knowing the regulation cornhole board dimensions  and the measurements of the bean bags, it’s also important to know the rules and regulations around setting up the play area. The dimensions for cornhole gaming areas should be 10 feet wide and a minimum of 45 feet long. The cornhole boards should be on either end of this area, with space on either side of each board to form a 4’x3’ “pitcher’s box” where players can stand to make their plays.
There, in a nutshell, are the most important specs for playing cornhole, in terms of the size of the cornhole board and bean bags, and the dimensions and layout of the game area.
